Vol. 1, No. 3

Woohoo! We finally found Magical Member Number Four for PL3K!

I can barely contain my enthusiasm for the fact that FINALLY we can begin to move forward again. Hopefully, we'll even be able to pursue gigs again in the very near future.

We sure went through a lot of agonizing over the decision of who would be our fourth band member. I guess we should feel lucky that the decision was difficult because we had so many GREAT musicians audition or call. The parade of truly talented and creative people with a wide range of musical tastes and personal abilities was spectacular. It was great fun to meet with all of them, jam, and hear some of their original music.

But, finally, by resorting to the use of a dark, secret, and mystical algorithm known only to us, we finally arrived at a decision. Although we haven't even had a first practice with our new member, Suave, yet, I've got a good feeling about this. And, that's an enormous relief after feeling like we've been in and out of "band limbo" for nearly a year. (We, of course, blame it all on Dave.)

I have to note the one thing that I thought was pretty surprising in this whole process though: We did not have even one phone call from a female guitarist. In our second newspaper ad, we even specifically pointed out that we were looking for a male or female guitarist (give Dale credit for that idea) in hopes of alerting all the women rockers out there that we are an equal opportunity band. But, it was to no avail. Apparently, either all the women guitarists in Cleveland are already in bands, or there seems to be a surprising dearth of them.

I guess it will go on being just me and the boys. 'Course, I like being the only female superhero in the Unlistenable P-Men.
